The Fall Of The House Of Usher

An Edgar Allan Poe classic, which has been adapted to the cinema many times. The most famous of these is “House of Usher,” directed by Roger Corman in 1960, starring the unforgettable actor of horror films, Vincent Price, in the role of Usher, of course. Netflix’s upcoming mini-series version brings Poe’s classic tale to the screen with a modern perspective.

The series stars well-known names like Carla Gugino, Bruce Greenwood, T’Nia Miller, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Zach Gilford, Michael Trucco, Henry Thomas, and Mark Hamill. The series will re-imagine the story of the ailing twin siblings from the original tale with a modern twist. This soon-to-be-released mini-series was created, written, and directed by Mike Flanagan, who has previously worked on popular Netflix horror series like “The Haunting of Hill House” and “Midnight Mass.”

The Devil on Trial

Prepare to be ensnared by the chilling tale of “The Devil on Trial,” set to premiere on Netflix. This unprecedented journey into the heart of darkness unfolds as it recounts a gruesome murder that led to the remarkable use of demonic possession as a legal defense. The narrative weaves together firsthand accounts, spine-tingling reenactments, and actual recordings of alleged devil possession. At its core, “The Devil on Trial” is a harrowing saga of a family torn asunder by their deeply entrenched beliefs, and the haunting aftermath that lingers like a sinister specter. This isn’t just a retelling of a well-worn story; it’s a revelation as the key figures intimately involved in the case share their truths, sparking a profound exploration of the collision between reality and unwavering beliefs. As you delve into the depths of this enigmatic story, expect a finale that will leave you spellbound, challenging your perceptions of truth and the unknown.

Talk To Me

Prepare to be spellbound by “Talk to Me,” the latest offering from Danny and Michael Philippou. This dark tale imagines a chilling modern craze—spiritual possession through a ceramic-encased severed hand covered in cryptic names and symbols. Australian teens, including Mia, Jade, and Riley, become unwilling participants in this sinister game, allowing them to commune with the deceased within their own bodies for a mere 90 seconds. As the spirits take control, their world darkens, their pupils dilate into an abyss, and their bodies convulse in a macabre dance of death, all while their friends film the eerie spectacle. “Talk to Me” thrusts you into a haunting narrative, exploring the disturbing allure of the digital age and the terrifying consequences that follow.

The Wicker Man Series

Unlike its predecessors in the horror genre, The Wicker Man, which was not taken seriously as a horror film in its time due to its mostly daylight setting and its confusing blend of cheerful folk music, tells the story of a young girl who goes missing on an island called Summerisle and a devout police officer who comes to search for her. The film presents a rather intriguing conflict between pagan culture and a Christian perspective. This 1973 British production blends elements of horror, mystery, and music and was directed by Robin Hardy, adapted from David Pinner’s 1967 novel “Ritual.” In the coming days, we will be able to see this unconventional work as a series.

Untitled “The Conjuring” Series

The horror universe centered around the paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, which includes “The Conjuring” film series and its spin-off movies, is expanding even further. After Nun II and Conjuring 4, now we are expecting a tv series.

The Conjuring drama series, developed by Peter Safran in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television, was announced yesterday and will be available on the new digital streaming platform Max, created through the merger of HBO Max and Discovery+.

While the exact plot of the series is not yet known, it is said to continue the story from the films. Whether the famous actors Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, who portrayed the Warrens in the movies, will reprise their roles in the series has not been confirmed yet.

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines

Get ready for a spine-tingling prequel in the Pet Sematary universe, as “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines” arrives on Paramount Plus this spooky season. Set in 1969, the film delves into the sinister secrets of a young Jud Crandall and his childhood friends as they confront an ancient evil lurking in their Maine hometown. Directed by Lindsey Beer and featuring a stellar cast including Jackson White, Samantha Mathis, David Duchovny, Henry Thomas, and Pam Grier, this prequel promises King-style chills, eerie sematary rituals, and the resurrection of previously-loved pets. With its impressive lineage and dark mystique, “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines” is a horror gem not to be missed when it hits screens on October 6, 2023.

Welcome To Derry

Pennywise is getting its own series! Stephen King’s nightmare-inducing clown will once again appear before the viewers in the “Welcome to Derry” series.

While fans await a possible “It 3” movie, Warner Bros. has decided to take the adventure in a different direction. In the series set in Stephen King’s world, the author himself will not be directly involved in the production. However, the project has been entrusted to Andy Muschietti, the director of the “It” films.

Five Nights At Freddy’s

Get ready to face your darkest nightmares as the long-anticipated Blumhouse adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s finally arrives on October 27, 2023. If you’ve ever pondered the antithesis of a comforting hug, this film brings it to life through its grotesque furry animatronics. For those unfamiliar, the original game was a survival horror masterpiece, casting you as the overnight security guard at a seemingly innocent pizza parlor, where the child-friendly animatronics turn out to be malevolent monsters. As the cinematic version takes shape, original game creator Scott Cawthorne and director Emma Tammi join forces, with the nightmarish animatronics crafted by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. The trailer hints at an unsettling wave of terror that promises to engulf your senses. Prepare to be spellbound by the sinister secrets lurking within the confines of Five Nights at Freddy’s, as it descends upon the spooky season of 2023.

Total Killer

“Total Killer” emerges as a troubled blend of “Back To The Future” and “Halloween.” In 1987, the “Sweet Sixteen Killer” wreaked havoc, resurfacing in 2023 to terrorize anew. With the aid of time travel, Jamie (Kiernan Shipka) teams up with her teenage mother (Olivia Holt) to thwart the killer’s resurgence. While the film offers sporadic thrills and unexpected plot twists, it often stumbles into predictability. Clumsy dialogue distracts from the narrative’s core, and attempts to satirize ’80s political incorrectness feel forced and misplaced. Despite its moments of intrigue, “Total Killer” struggles to escape the shadow of its genre predecessors, failing to establish a distinctive identity in the horror realm.

Hellraiser

The horror classic “Hellraiser” is becoming a TV series. The rights to the 1987 horror film “Hellraiser,” which is based on Clive Barker’s novel “The Hellbound Heart” and was adapted and directed by the author himself, have been acquired by HBO.

According to sources familiar with the project, the potential series will not be the original story of “Hellraiser” but rather an “upper-level continuation and expansion” of its mythology.

Alien

It has been reported that the Alien series written by Noah Hawley has now entered the pre-production stage. The preparations for the series are expected to be completed within this year.

According to information confirmed by FX, Sydney Chandler has been cast as the lead character in the series. While there is no information available about Chandler’s role in the series, it can be said that she will be portraying a new character. Noah Hawley had previously stated that the Alien TV series would not include the famous Ripley’s story. He mentioned that Ripley is one of the greatest characters of all time, and he doesn’t want to ruin her story as it has been told quite flawlessly.

The Exorcist: Believer

Exactly 50 years ago this fall, the most terrifying film in history shocked audiences worldwide when it was released. This year, a new chapter begins. A 2023 Exorcist!

In the director’s chair for the new “The Exorcist” series, the first installment of a trilogy titled “The Exorcist: Believer,” is David Gordon Green, known for “Halloween Kills.” Oscar-winning actress Ellen Burstyn, reprising the iconic role of Chris MacNeil, a character whose life was forever changed by the events that happened to her daughter Regan 50 years ago, is back for the first time since 1973.

Thanksgiving

Eli Roth’s horror film titled “Thanksgiving” will be hitting theaters in November, coinciding with the actual Thanksgiving holiday. Movie enthusiasts, especially fans of Tarantino, will surely recall the origins of this film.

“Thanksgiving” originally appeared as a “fake trailer” shown between two films as part of the 2007 Tarantino/Rodriguez collaboration “Grindhouse: Death Proof.” Now, 16 years later, this fake trailer has become a reality and has transformed into a horror film. The film’s story is based on this original trailer.

A Haunting in Venice

A Haunting in Venice,’ which is preparing to reunite Agatha Christie’s world-famous detective Hercule Poirot with the silver screen, presents Hercule Poirot with a chilling Halloween mystery in Venice after World War II. When Poirot, who has retired, attends a mysterious seance in a haunted mansion that ends in death, the iconic detective is once again forced to find the killer.
